The Outreach Committee at St. Andrew’s continues to be active, choosing a different ministry each month to focus on regarding service, prayer and donations. The ministries that we have been supporting are: Sage House, West Broadway Community ministry, Siloam Mission, Safe Passage, Rainbow Ministry, Agape Table, The Prayer Shawl Ministry and St. Matthew’s Maryland. The community ministries of the United Church of Canada continue to be promoted through the Christmas Catalogue, through Outreach-givings from the church and through Minute for Mission.

Two other important aspects of St. Andrew’s Outreach Program are: the Meals on Wheels Program and the Right to Housing Coalition. The latter is a coalition working in Winnipeg that seeks to advocate for appropriate, affordable housing for those in need.

On an annual basis donations are made to: Winnipeg Harvest, Siloam Mission, 1-Hope Winnipeg and Agape Table. This is the Outreach Program in a nutshell. Together, we make a difference.

On November 18, 2018, St. Andrew’s River Heights United Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba dedicated our Affirming Cross as a symbol of our being an Affirming Ministry of the United Church of Canada. During this service we also created the “Tuna Tree and Mayo & Salad Dressing Mountain” from items we collected in October and November for 1JustCity-Oak Table.
